Heifer 2401 is a Registered Purebred South Poll heifer.  She is a red heifer that was born on our ranch on January 3rd.  She was the first calf born in our 2024 calf crop.  On her sire's side she descends from Brutus, Dynamite, and Broadway.  On her dam's side her great-grandmother was a Greg Judy South Poll cow.  Heifer 2401 is 100% South Poll, but because that Greg Judy South Poll cow wasn't registered, Heifer 2401 is classified as a purebred rather than a fullblood. 

Not only was Heifer 2401 the first born in her year, but so was her dam, Cow 1901.  In addition, Cow 1901 has has never missed a calf, so there is certainly some fertility in this line!  Cow 1901 is around a 900 lb. cow.  We expect 2401 to mature to a similar size.

Heifer 2401 is exclusively grass-fed, eating grasses such as coastal bermuda and behia and cover crops along with hay in the-off season and quality minerals.  She has been rotationally grazed behind a single strand of hotwire.  She has tested negative for BVD PI.
