Cow 1803 is a Registered 75% South Poll 7-year-old cow.  Her grandmother was a Greg Judy South Poll cow.  Although Cow 1803 is a 100% South Poll cow, because that Greg Judy cow was unregistered, it downgraded her in the the South Poll registry.  Cow 1803 is a 950 to 1000 lbs. cow.  We have retained her last two heifer calves.

1803's heifer calf 2525 is a Purebred South Poll.  She was born on February 23, 2025 weighing 67 lbs.  She is a great-granddaughter of Bull 6400.  You can see Bull 6400 and some pictures of his daughters by clicking here

This cow and heifer were both born on our ranch.  They are exclusively grass-fed, eating grasses such as coastal bermuda and behia and cover crops on our ranch along with hay in the-off season and quality minerals.  They are rotationally grazed behind a single strand of hotwire.  They have tested negative for BVD PI.

Answer to Brent's Question Below:

Brent asked if this cow had ever missed a calf.  The answer is yes, but no.  In 2021 this cow had the 98 calf born out of the 99 calves we had that year.  For the 2022 calving season, we tightened our calving season to 45 days.  That is much tighter than most herds.  It was expected that the cows that calved at the tail end of our 2021 season wouldn’t breed back.  Through no fault of their own, they simply wouldn’t have the chance to do so.  This cow calved on April 17 2021.  That year the bulls went in on March 30, 18 days before she calved.  It was a management decision we made to shorten and change our calving season.  Because it wasn’t her fault, we kept her.  The following year, 2023, she had the 11th calf born.  She has never missed a calf since the 2022 season and has calved in 2023, 2024, and 2025 in our required 45 day season.  She is a cow that has done everything we have asked of her.  She is in the sale because she is a 75% cow in the registry.  Our closed herd is now almost exclusively a Fullblood and Purebred South Poll herd.  If you have any further questions, please feel free to call us 903-681-4211.  We love talking about our cows!
