Please note: This cow developed a knot under her jaw. We took her to the veterinarian on 10/01/25. The veterinarian lanced, drained, and flushed the golf-ball sized lump and prescribed a shot of antibiotics. The veterinarian noted that it looked like the lump was a result of being pricked by a thorn and believes the knot will resolve without issue.
Bred Cow 1822 is a 75% South Poll. She is 7 years old. She was born on our ranch in 2018. 1822 last calved on 1/20/2025 and is bred back to calve between January 12 and March 3, 2026. We have retained her last two heifer calves as replacement calves for our own herd. We sold her 2024 bull calf as a breeding bull. Cow 1822 is a granddaughter of M419. She weaned her 2025 calf the 2nd week of September. On 10/6/2025, she weighed 1050 lbs. She was exposed to the following four Fullblood South Poll bulls: 1948 (Reg # 41719), 2121 Mack (Reg # 48261), 2103 Jackson Storm (Reg 48258) and 2307 (Reg # 53582).
Cow 1822 is exclusively grass-fed, eating grasses such as coastal bermuda and behia and cover crops along with hay in the-off season and quality minerals year-round. She has been rotationally grazed, moving daily behind a single strand of hotwire. She is BVD PI negative.
