Viewing of Animals Listed in this Auction

This is an online only auction. Animals listed in this auction will be available for a preview on our ranch near Athens, Texas. Please call 903-681-4211 or email info@hoofandhide.com to schedule a time. Cattle will be in a pasture for viewing. We recommend you wear appropriate footwear as you will be walking through pasture to view the animals.

Warning - Under Texas law (chapter 87, civil practice and remedies code), a farm animal professional or farm owner or lessee is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in farm animal activities, including an employee or independent contractor, resulting from the inherent risks of farm animal activities.

If there is a discrepancy between information available on other sources and this auction site, the information on this auction site takes precedence.

Transportation

All animals are located near Athens, Texas on our ranch. Transportation of livestock is the sole responsibility of the buyer. All shipping of any kind shall be at buyer's responsibility and expense.

Please contact us prior to bidding should you be unable to pickup the animal within 10 days excluding Sundays (by Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026) or if you would need to make delivery arrangements. Please note, Sundays are our day of rest and we try to avoid loading animals on Sundays.

Should you be transporting livestock in a manner that requires federal and/or state inspections (e.g. crossing state lines), we will provide standard required health certificates. Should additional tests, or documentation required for shipment, these shall be at buyer's expense. We will coordinate with our veterinarian to get you any papers you require.

Submission of a bid is a binding offer to purchase livestock.

The individual with the highest winning bid will be responsible for contacting Hoof & Hide LLC at 903-681-4211 or info@hoofandhide.com to arrange for payment outside of this auction website. There are no buyer's premiums. The price you bid is the price you pay. A deposit of $500/animal is required within 24 hours of the close of the auction. Upon our discretion, we may waive the deposit requirement if you have made arrangements to pick up the animal in the next few days. If the deposit is not waived and is not paid, the cow/heifer will be offered to the next highest bidder. Cattle will be available for pickup upon payment in full. If the balance is not paid, the deposit is forfeited and the cow/heifer will be available for sale again or placed back into our herd. We do not accept credit card, please contact us to pay with bank transfer, cash, check, or cashiers check.

In the event of malfunction by, or a power outage affecting, the auction host computer, it is Hoof & Hide LLC's sole discretion to continue or stop the sale during any disruptions or downtime. Any lots already closed and not affected by the malfunction or outage will be considered sold.

As the buyer, it is your responsibility to ensure that your computer and internet service are in working order. Hoof & Hide LLC does not take any responsibility should your equipment or service malfunction or have an outage that prevents you from placing anticipated bids.

Registered Fullblood South Poll Cow 1825 is an 8-year-old bred cow. She was born on our ranch and we have kept three replacement heifers out of her. Cow 1825 last calved on February 8, 2026 and is bred back to calve January to March 2027. She descends from Brutus, Chief, and 4401. Cow 1825 weighed approximately 985 lbs on 9/3/2026 when she weaned her 2026 heifer calf. Cow 2185 was exposed to the following five Fullblood South Poll bulls: 1948 (Reg # 41719), 2121 Mack (Reg # 48261), 2307 (Reg # 53582), 2426 Henry (Reg # 65253), and 2450 Titus (Reg # 76646). She is bred back to calve January to March 2027. To make it easier to test the calf’s DNA, DNA sire markers for all potential sires are already on file with the South Poll Registry.

Cow 1825 has a bump on her back. The neighbors saw a tree branch fall on her in the summer of 2025. Other than the bump, we have not noticed any issues related to getting hit by the branch. She successfully carried her calf and delivered her in 2026 (despite being hit by the branch) and is currently bred back. Cow 1825 is a cow that will be happier in a larger group. She gets nervous. Her offspring are calm and well tempered, but she will look for someplace to go. She is not mean and will not come towards you. She hasn't jumped fences, but will have a lot of movement in the pasture. She is not the cow for you if you are inexperienced with cattle.

Cow 2185 is exclusively grass-fed, eating grasses such as coastal bermuda and behia and cover crops along with hay in the-off season and quality minerals year-round. She has been rotationally grazed, moving daily behind a single strand of hotwire. Her positive pregnancy test and negative BVD PI test are attached for your reference.
